LA FÊTE DU VÉLO
The Bike Festival at Lez Market: an event dedicated to sustainable transpor
Through La Fête du Vélo, the Synerg-In agency organised an event aimed at raising public awareness of the challenges of ecological transition and urban mobility. Held in the heart of this Montpellier third place, renowned for its dynamism and creative spirit, the day brought together numerous stakeholders committed to a common goal: promoting more responsible modes of transport that are accessible to all.
A true meeting place and forum for exchange, the Marché du Lez hosted a village dedicated to cycling and soft mobility, bringing together artisans, local merchants, associations, cycling clubs, and public and private organisations. Together, they presented various urban transport alternatives to the public and shared their initiatives for a more sustainable city.
Throughout the event, visitors were able to meet specialists in bicycles and cycling equipment, take part in repair workshops, meet professionals involved in the rental or purchase of alternative mobility solutions (scooters, skateboards, hoverboards, electric Segways, quadricycles, etc.), and attend demonstrations and activities organised by cycling schools.
The day was also marked by the presence of associations committed to responsible mobility and by the organisation of a bicycle swap meet, giving equipment a second life and promoting more sustainable consumption.
Beyond the entertainment, La Fête du Vélo was part of an awareness-raising and educational initiative aimed at encouraging everyone to gradually adopt new travel habits. In collaboration with the Metropolis and various partners, the event provided the public with information on environmental issues related to mobility and the concrete solutions that exist today.
By bringing together citizens, professionals and committed stakeholders, this initiative helped to highlight urban mobility alternatives while creating a convivial event accessible to all, in keeping with the spirit of the Marché du Lez.
